URBAN PLANNING ALAMEDA PRINCIPAL IN MALAGA

Alameda Principal

URBAN PLANNING AND 3D EXTERIOR DESIGN OF THE ALAMEDA PRINCIPAL (MALAGA)

We are proud to show you the urban planning and 3D exterior design of the Alameda Principal in Malaga, a historic avenue in the city of Malaga. As a historical space, it stands out for an extensive cultural and physical heritage  such as a variety of architecture of the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, mostly protected buildings, the hundred-year-old ficus that make up the tree-covered vault, the monument to the Marques of Larios by Mariano Benlliure or some specific archaeological remains.

For this urban planning we developed a complete architectural project, not only based on visualization: we first collaborated in the process of citizen participation (development of conferences, logos and mupis); then we worked actively in the development and drafting of the architectural project; finally we carried out the development of an hyperrealistic 3D exterior design in order to communicate to the citizen the image of the finished project through local media.

The aim of the project is the recovery of this important historical space of the city of Malaga and the enhancement of the heritage, incorporating this historical layer to the functional and informational layer that shapes the contemporary space.

After the four-month process of citizen participation, “la alameda un proyecto de [email protected]” (the Alameda, a project of everyone), we have drawn a project that contemplates assigning both the north and south zones next to the buildings to pedestrian spaces, restricting road traffic to the central strip.

The materials used pursue durability, economy of maintenance, as well as promoting innovation. As a project to recover the nineteenth-century space, the new space of the Alameda is projected considering the pre-existing traces in the place, which are documented in planimetries corresponding to the eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries, as well as establishing areas of protection and dignity for the plant heritage (ficus) from the point of view of its conservation.

In the conviction that the public space must be used under equal conditions by each of the citizens, the design of the entire space is made under criteria of universal accessibility and design for all.
